<<< Back to Cymbals
Who doesn’t want a second ride cymbal on their kit? I did, so I added one. I already had a 20″ Ping Ride, so I opted for the 22″ Ride, and placed it on the left side of my kit.

Sound Test
For this demonstration, I’m using my Audix Fusion Series microphones with no EQ, compression, reverb, or processing of any kind. I start with a close up of the ride cymbal. I then play the whole kit in a few different styles.
Final Thoughts
The 22″ Ride is a little louder, darker, and washier than my 20″ Ping Ride, which is great, because I picked this cymbal to go on my left side, where my (live kit) 18″ floor tom is and where my (studio kit) 18″ floor tom will eventually be. It has a decent bell, but I prefer the bell on my Ping Ride, and will be sticking to that for most of my bell work.
