The cymbal that started it all for me. This is the cymbal that got me hooked on the Zildjian A Custom cymbal line back in high school. It’s bright, responsive, and has an extremely short decay.

Sound Test
For this demonstration, I’m using my Audix Fusion Series microphones with no EQ, compression, reverb, or processing of any kind. I start with a close up of the crash cymbal. I then play the whole kit in a few different styles.
Final Thoughts
This is my go-to crash cymbal for accents. A quick, bright, colorful crash with a quick decay. Even though it has a quick decay, it sounds great for riding. I typically don’t ride it, but on occasion I do, especially for smaller gigs where I only have hi-hats, a ride, a crash, and a splash. It’s a versatile cymbal, and no matter the gig, I have this one with me.
