Sound Test
For this demonstration, I’m using my Audix Fusion Series microphones with no EQ, compression, reverb, or processing of any kind. I start with a close up of the crash cymbal. I then play the whole kit in a few different styles. I also play a beat using the bell of this cymbal.
Final Thoughts
This is currently my biggest crash cymbal, and my go-to crash cymbal for riding. It’s big, warm, and right in the middle sound-wise. I occasionally use it for accent crashes as well. The bell is big enough to be struck, but it’s not nearly as loud as the bell on my ride cymbal. I also set my crashes much higher than my ride, so I can’t strike the bell very easily anyway.
