How long have you been playing?
A little over 17 years now. I started playing at the age of 10. I joined the school band in 5th grade, and have been playing ever since.
What instruments do you play?
Primarily drums/drum kit (in case that wasn't obvious), but I also play the bass guitar on occasion. Over the years, I've played several percussion instruments, in both an orchestral and marching settings: snare drum, bass drum, timpani, marimba, glockenspiel, chimes, all sorts of hand percussion, the list goes on.
What is your favorite music related experience?
Mississippi Mayhem 2017. I received a notification on Facebook about a rockabilly band that was performing at this event, and they needed an emergency fill in drummer. I contacted them, they sent me their songs. I went to my studio that night, taped a demo, sent it to them, and was chosen to fill in. It was less than a week before the show, and I've never played rockabilly before. Since the band was coming from out of state, we never had a rehearsal. We met for the first about three hours before the show, talked through some things, and then it was time for the show. It was a blast. It's not every day you get an opportunity to play at a festival with a band you've never met playing a genre you've never touched.
